Stop me if you've heard this one before... A Marine officer falls overboard during a battle with some pirates. He's a Devil Fruit user, so he can't swim and has to be rescued by a deckhand. When he's back aboard his ship, he thanks the deckhand and asks how he can best repay his underling for saving his life. The deckhand looks sheepish as he replies. "I think the best reward would be keeping it a secret, sir," he says, "If the other fellows knew I pulled you out, they might push me in!" Dahahahaha!

I ah... don't know. I was drinking with Law then, and passed out not long after we started. He might've called Marco over, though.

Why don't you tell me what you've been up to since you've been here?

[Well, he's been forced to fight in a war, and thought Nami almost died, Marco was gone for a month right after he came home from dying, and last week he burned someone to death in front of his little brother.]

Mnn, nothing much, really. Just living, really. [Get drunk first, Shanks, then he'll explain the broken arm.]

[ he looks a little skeptical if he takes another drink. ]

Both of us. [He takes a long sip of his drink.] Definitely both...

Not exactly bad the whole year. Just recently. [Taking another quiet sip. God, you old pirates and your nosiness.]

Then tell me about some of the good things that have happened.

Well... I'm alive. [That's at like the top of his list for good things.]

And it's a wonderful thing to see.

[He chuckles a little nervously, and pauses to reminisce a little.] I dyed Marco's hair red. He flipped his shit and it was hilarious to watch. Oh, and I took Luffy out on my skiff on his birthday. Made some new friends, too.
